Leila Hilal, Director of the Middle East Task Force at the New America Foundation, discusses the latest developments in Gaza, Egypt, Syria, and throughout the region.
Yellow Cake? Those are Twinkies.
As for Saddams WMDs, the Assad regime took them as the Sadaam regime fell.
yeah, right....let's involve john bolton in this argument! are you people crazy? we need some fresh mis-information for syria problem. ugandan yellow-cake anyone?
44,000+ dead in Syria. Arabs killing Arabs.
But the FAKE "anti-war" brownshirts aren't protesting the slaughter in Syria. You don't see them protesting across the street from Syrian embassies/consulates/missions.
Isn't protesting Arabs killing Arabs a worthy cause to the FAKE "anti-war" cult?
In Egypt, the new Pharaoh (Morsi) is the same as the old Pharaoh (Mubarak).
This was on WNYC a few days ago from the BBC program Heart and Soul. I couldn't get a direct link, but the page at http://www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/series/heartsoul has links to download the episode or play it back.(under "Recent episodes"; they're only available for 30 days). Here's the description from the site:
"Green ShootsFrom The Arab Spring - EgyptChristopher de Bellaigue considers thepotential for a new, more questioning attitude among Egyptians in the wakeof the popular uprising, and asks if the result could be an increasinglycritical approach to social, familial – and even religious –authority."
@ Chuzz - What are your admittedly brilliant suggestions (not to mention those of the genius-level variety from J. Bolton) on the multitude of challenges?
Needless to say, it's nice to have people (experts) around to oversimplify issues that are extremely complicated and/or intractable so as to reinforce American Exceptionalism and rebuff shifting realities that need not be countenanced because of the sheer power of the U.S's Cold War-era path forward.(Go Bolton!)
Morsi's White House Enablers - David Ignatius, Washington Post
Morsi Pushes Egypt Toward the Brink - Matthias Gebauer, Der Spiegel
If You Thought Benghazi Was Bad, Watch Syria - Robert Baer, Time
Oh, gosh, what a surprise ... another guest from an Obama-friendly think tank that is reluctant to criticize our disinterested, lackluster "leader".
The rapidly shrinking stature of U.S leadership under President Lead-From-Behind is being ignored by his handmaidens in the media. Even Israel critic Peter Beinart admits it this morning ... “If the administration’s new Israel approach sounds familiar, it’s because it fits the broader Obama strategy of “leading from behind”.”
Why not have John Bolton or Elliott Abrams on the BLS and show the kiddies here how badly things are REALLY going?
That the Christians are leaving the Middle East in large numbers is not a good sign.
