NPR sports reporter Mike Pesca checks-in from London to talk about this year's Olympic trends, upsets, and the controversial New York Times article on American runner Lolo Jones.
How did Mike Pesca not mention the US Women's soccer victory!? It was probably the most exciting moment of the Olympics so far. A header in the last thirty seconds after 120 minutes of play! It was incredible. I was incensed that he didn't mention this.
Shame on you WNYC ... stating the Chinese swimmer "apparently" used performance enhancing drugs. The only evidence is that Ye Shiwen swam an amazing race and the US coach John Leonard accused her of cheating. Here are the facts: 1) Ye Shiwen was CLEARED by the Olympic committee of any doping - Totally Clean. 2) She was 23 seconds slower than Lochte, only her last 50m were faster because she sped up and Lochte slowed down. 3) Ian Thorpe took 5 sec off his time in the 400m freestyle from aged 15 to 16, Adrian Moorhouse was four seconds faster at 17 in the 200m breaststroke
Speaking of USA Olympic basketball, has there ever been an instance of non-NBA players on the team?
Shortest long jump to win in 40 years. What's up with that?
McKayla Maroney's pruneface on the medals podium.
Is marijuana a performance enhancing drug? Why was the judoka expelled?
And NBC's monumentally flawed broadcast decisions :Not to show the 7/7 tributeWhat to and what not to broadcast liveand the topper: Showing a promo of a monkey on the rings after Gabby wins Gold! Could they have beeb more insensitive?
Yeah.. I loved that NBC 'report' on how Reagan went in an liberated the Grenadines (sp?)from the communist government.
There was NO communist government. That was an irresponsible rewriting of history
don't belittle the foreign teams!. Serbia, Lithuania, Argentine and Spain are big Basketball competitors!.
my eyes have watered up, over the terrible luck of the chinese hurler. so very sad to see him fall. his hopping on one leg to finish the race, simply choked me up.
how 'bout that NBC, with it's one-eyed,glorification of the "viva-reagan", nonsense in its report, on the sprinter from grenada. oh, and congrats young man,for your country's first olympic medal.
