You apparently don't understand the differences. Evangelicals dont advocate spreading their faith through the sword. Or by use of an insurrectionist strategy to ultimately topple liberal democracy. Scripture tells Christians to leave to Caesar what is Caesar's etc. By contrast, political islam specifically calls for war on non islamic governments, or through demographic dominance. Sharia is antithetical to secular and consentual government. And THEY say that. Not me.

Evangelicals do not represent a threat to TODAY'S civil society, with large mumbers of adherents ACTING in accord with brutal and archaic ideologies. Only Muslims do.

("Large numbers", because Islamic literalism is now considered mainstream islam by most muslims in the world. Just look no further than the fact that entire nations enforce sharia, such as death sentences for apostates.)

And what is the fundementalist doctrine on treating apostates and non believers? Do non-christians live in Dhimmi (apartheid-like) status in fundementalist communities, and pay a Jiza (tax). I can trace every civil rights violation and crime against humanity perpetrated by jihadists and islamists to koranic text.

It seems ironic to me that everyone who weighs in on the subject of war inevitability, points to Democracy as the great tool of peace. History has repeatedly demonstrated that, although democracies might be less likely to go to war, they are also the least able to limit scale and duration of the wars in which they choose to participate.

I am glad that I live in a democracy (albeit an eroding one) but I am not certain that humanity would benefit (in terms of reducing suffering and advancing civics) from the instant proliferation of new democracies around the world.

Russia and China have their own internal situations which they have to crush from time to time, such Chechnya and Tibet, and so they are less opposed to brutal suppressions than are westerners in particular. Westerners are more averse to overt brutality than are the former Communist powers.

And, of course, the Chinese and Russians have closer economic relations to the remaining brutal dictatorships than does America. They do business with countries the US doesn't want to do business in. THey want to get the business the US is spurning in the name of "human rights."

Why would Obama give $1.5 billion in (borrowed) foreign aid to the next likely President of Egypt, Khairat el-Shater------considered by Obama to be a "moderate." Yet a man who had uttered these words just one year ago:
