I am all left of center, freedom of the press etc. etc.
But, if you do something stupid like cross over into North Korea, you've got to expect something very bad to happen...

I find it incredulous that Ms. Ling could cross the river/border without knowing what she was doing. And in the end, she got a book deal and a lot of exposure. That said, I'm glad she gained her freedom from what is one of the most reprehensible governments on earth.
The title of the book should be "Don't cross the border to North Korea or you will be arrested."
did Laura crossed the border into North Korea legally and then got arrested ? if not , why make a big deal of some who crossed a border illegally and got arrested ?
