It's not so much that The Daily's running the interview w/Rep. Giffords is in bad taste as that it's blatantly self-serving, since she so enthusiastically recommends the iPad--the only device The Daily is available on!

The reason why the Daily is iPad only is because the iPad is its own domain, and Murdoch doesn't want to use the Internet for distribution any more. Apple has made a closed system, as opposed to the open web.
The daily is just a ploy to change Fox's image. Why they bought the Wall Street Journal and now this ipad merger. It's still Fox news who brought us such investigative journalists as Glenn Beck and Bill O'Reilly. It's akin to when McDonalds changes design and has free wifi...it's still bad food. They targeted me at my bicycle blog as an attempt to reach out to the hip and cool. I declined. But it was interesting that they cold called me and asked me to plug it. I can't promote something owned by the same people who own the NY POST who constantly bash cyclists and the DOT's recent infrastructure changes. Look out. The Daily will be full engaged in targeting you.

Much of Conde Naste's top talent is jumping ship because of the ipad on top of the jobs they get paid for. Double workload while health and other benefits cut. Is Murdoch able to attract this newly available talent pool?
A friend of mine has a trial copy on his iPad. It's just like one of Murdoch's tabloids, but in electronic form. Yea, there's semi-cool graphics, but as far as content, I certainly have no use for it.
