Freedom Tower???
Are you kidding?!?!?
jaggerbutts - the mideast needs you! pack fresh underpants!
Thanks for letting your guests speak, for not interrupting or commenting constantly. It takes a good interviewer to let his or her guests actually speak their minds. I greatly appreciated your guests' comments and the fact that they were allowed to "hold the floor" without interruption or hype.
We were not attacked because we are a free society. The killing of a a couple thousand civilians was a criminal backlash against imperial power exercised by "market" and political and armed forces. The world trade center victims and all the other civilians killed in Pennsylvania and the DC were victims of this "free" society as well.
Why do you need to register and check-in to hold hands? What a hyper-bureaucratic culture we've become.
City officials and the NYPD has used 911 as an excuse to control every aspect of public space and free expression.
You need a permit to cross the street with a group of more than 4.

There are no churches or synagogues in Mecca or Medina. Now, get them to take down their mosques, and we've got a deal!
Please ask them about themosques's connection with the Heiner Friedrich, Phillpa De Menil aka Sheikha Fariha al-Jerrahi
and the original funding for the mosque in Tribeca. I've been living on Wlaker St for the past 43 years around the corner from the mosque.
Re Bobby G's comment: There are stickers on some lamp-posts in Chelsea (maybe other neighborhoods as well) "THERE'S NOTHING TO SEE AT GROUND ZERO. NOW GO HOME."
No church, no mosque, no synagogue!!
Basta!!
No jingoistic names for the new buildings that go up there, also!!
Stop mixing up remembrance with religion of ANY kind. Religion IS being used around the 9-11 terrorist attack to promote personal causes, gain public notoriety, and for those in politics, to spice up their agendas and hidden economic interests.
What new immigrants flock to lower Manhattan? How many of us "choose to live" there? The same number who choose to make a whopping big investment banker or stock broker salary?

Take your message to the Muslims, and see how well it is received.
There was an NPR story a week ago about a Tennessee christian church that invited a new unfinished mosque to hold Ramadan in the church. Shame on us for not being as welcoming to the mosque near WTC
Less Religion. More Brains!
Info about St. Peter's is FASCINATING! I've never heard it before and I've never heard of Peter Stuyvasant (sp?) and the synagogue. If this info has been in the Times, I missed it.
I recall Tribeca as an artistic community with some wild artist bars in the 1980's. Now, most of the artists are gone, and one can't walk down the street without a tourist asking for directions to Ground Zero.
Why spend so much to build a Mosque, or Temple, or Church? Anywhere? Why not take all that money and help the starving Somalians in Africa and help get rid of the criminal "muslims" running the country and not giving a damn about the starving and dying population. Is praying in a new Mosque going to help them?
It's very hard to balance being a national iconic site and our neighborhood. I was at a wedding in Minnesota last summer and got into an argument with a Minnesotan who was railing against the Islamic center and I finally said to him "keep out of my neighborhood! It's my neighborhood and I welcome the center". He replied "It's not your neighborhood. it belongs to the country".
As child of Holocaust survivors too, I want to say that as long as Islam REFUSES to accept Jewish national rights in the very tiny Land of Israel, and that Israel is JEWISH SOIL, they have declared themselves MY enemy! I am not their enemy; it is they who have declared that my Jewish nation has no right to its historic, national homeland, despite being the birthplace of the Jewish people and religion - and Christianity as well!
BTW, Israel is the only country in the Middle East where the number of churches has actually increased in numbers!
I so hate it when Brian has religious guests on his show, and he attempts to make adult intelligent conversation with people who are delusional or incapable of mature critical thinking in the first place. Religion is a mental cancer...leading people into magical thinking, cultism and away from reality. It does not bear serious consideration in the decisions of mankind and I fervently wish the human race would get over it.
Well, at least we can move on from 9-11 with the assurance that the "Ground Zero Mosque" will never be built....and for totally non-political reasons. Haven't heard that much about this lately, have you? Fraud and other legal charges against the "developers" have quietly derailed this attempt to get Saudi and other Muslim millionaires to fund this high profile vanity boondoggle...and they planned on using the "racism" card as a bludgeon to hide the malfeasance. Allstate, Geico and State Farm Insurance have all filed cases in the Eastern District of U.S. Federal Court that this was an elaborate and sophisticated kick-back scheme. Does Ms. Khan have any comments on this?
Aw, gee, and you guys thought it was just us Zionists and "Islamophobes".
