If the moderators are still going to see this: the playback continues after the Elaine Scarry segment to include the entire following segment w/Ferran Adria as well. Can you delete the latter segment from this page & leave it only on its own? Thanks--& then you can delete this comment too.
They did--not immediately, because it was a reaction to the riots. Unfortunately, 3 of the residents helping to protect 1 neighborhood were deliberately run over & killed.
Interesting comment re: government inertia vs quick thinking and acting citizenry in light of recent UK mobs. I wondered why the general citizenry didnt pull together and patrol their neighborhoods to combat the thugs.
