To "Noncrank":

"Get a life"? I have a wonderful life, thanks very much.

May I suggest you get a name, so that people can know who you are?

Regarding the comment below. I just heard that Brian did acknowledge Irwin Schneiderman's contributions to WNYC.

I'm glad they finally did.

Has WNYC mentioned that Schneiderman's father Irwin is on the board of trustees of WNYC and that he has given the station millions of dollars?

If not, that is a stupendous neglect of their moral and legal responsibility.

I do not see where you're supposed to vote on who won the debate.

These guys are so annoying. They find it more important to bicker back and forth, rather than put some real ideas forward.

My sentiment is the same Eric K. They answer indirectly so they don't/won't offend Espada's constituents and those in the all-powerful party who back him. It's the same reason they won't flat out replace a majority of the AG's staff - fear of the party's wrath. Why don't these candidates all pledge that the AG's Office is their ultimate goal and not eventual Governor of NY and then federal Senator, Congressperson, VP of Pres candidate. Serving "the public good" now means playing party politics the right way to climb the ladder while a life-long career politician.

my question about Espada has been answered indirectly. If we can't them to agree in unison that he should be ousted to politically, to say nothing legally...then this is why I have lost faith in the American political system.

Do any of these candidate have the guts/vision to significantly change the entrenched, vested, staff at the AG's office who lost their passion to represent New York State and/or practice law years ago? It's very disheartening that it's primarily just upper level management (aka bureau chiefs and deputies) who get replaced when a new AG takes office rather than more of the "lower level" Assistant Attorney Generals who are just as responsible for the Office's work product. Most people don't know or realize but the AG has the power to change his/her ENTIRE staff, but routinely fail to due to party cronyism. Break the cycle and replace a majority of staff if you really care about New York! There are more than enough unemployed New York attorneys who are ready, willing, and able to do the work.

Question for Eric Schneiderman,

Today’s Newsday story talks about your relationship with your lobbyist ex-wife who was a high ranking member of many of the labor unions who have endorsed your candidacy; NARAL – New York endorsed your candidacy
without ever revealing that your father had donated nearly 100K to the organization over the years. You have refused to release your tax
returns. Can you tell voters what if any role did your ex-wife have in securing your endorsement by those labor unions, and have you, or
any of your close family members, ever donated money to either the Empire Pride Agenda, Citizen Union, or Al Sharpton’s organization? If so, how much? And if so, why should we voters trust that these
endorsements were nothing more than buy-offs?

Questrion for Eric Schneiderman:

Can you please set the record straight to voters regarding the hit and
run? You have changed your story about the incident a number of
times, sometimes indicating that you did realize that your car struck
the other vehicle but did not think there was damage and at other
times you indicated that you did not even realize that your car had
struck the other vehicle. Do you believe that it is fair that there
have been many people of color arrested for this same type of crime
yet your driver was not even questioned by police? Is there one
standard for politicians and another for ordinary New Yorkers? What
would have been the remedy for the other driver in recurring her
$3000.00 in damages if the eyewitness had not gotten your license
plate number?

One Simple Question:

Who will have Pedro Espada arrested, prosecuted and sent to prison?

As Noticing New York has covered in depth, several of the AG candidates have said the AG should take actions against Atlantic Yards including investigation. Most recently, Candidate Richard Brodsky has swung over to express sentiment in favor of such investigation.

You can ask the candidates their positions about the AG investigating or taking other action with respect to Atlantic Yards (and abuse of eminent domain), but given this sentiment for investigation by the AG you will find that the harder question to ask of the candidates is about their reaction to Andrew Cuomo who as current AG and candidate for governor has not returned campaign donations Forest City Ratner the developer fo Atlantic Yards even though Cuomo has been requested to investigate and take other actions with respect to Atlantic Yards. (Cuomo’s response is that he hasn’t returned the money to Ratner because fo the timing of that donation.)
