If the military was the most integrated place in America then we wouldn't be firing soldiers based on their sexual identity. Fortunately, my workplace in NYC is more evolved.
I do agree with your caller Mike to some extent. Even with integration the whites refuse to accept a level playing field in all aspects of life, especially jobs & education. Most white men at my job like in most parts of the US cannot accept Obama as the head of the country, just because he is Black. Little over 60 years we had a segregated military. Today the military is the most integrated place in America. Maybe America realized that the color of your skin is not important when it comes to being shot at in a war. I will take separate but equal because this is not working because race continues to matter in America.
