Hola Charlie!
Esta manana oi tu entrevista con Brian Lehrer sobre el aumento del precio de cafe y chocolate. Muy interesante! Estuve en mi coche, manejando, y fui muy emocianante! Buen trabajo! Nina (de tu clase de Espanol.)
Haven't you noticed the incredible shrinking candy bar? The same price but slightly less in each package -- hoping the consumer won't notice. Or they offer a super-sized package and charge more -- which seem reasonable -- but the unit price is actually higher as well. So they get you no matter what.
They don't have to raise prices - just shrink the size of the product. Now a "pound" of coffee is 12 oz.
There's a very simple and elegant solution to coffee shortages - drink more tea!
I remember a while ago some mysterious person or company purchased all the chocolate in Europe and had it shipped off to their warehouses. Any connection?
