Justice Sotomayor; Against Landmines; Primates and Humanism
We’re airing some of our favorite recent segments on this Memorial Day. U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor talks about growing up in the Bronx and her path to the highest court. Then, we hear listeners respond to two questions inspired by Justice Sotomayor’s interview: first, is law school worth it? And who inspired you to see the world differently? Plus, Nobel Peace Prize winner Jody Williams on her activism against landmines; primatologist Frans de Waal on what animals can teach us about innate morality and therefore about religion; and a discussion about the intersection of art and science with performance artist Marina Abramović and two NYU neuroscientists.

always talks about abortion when ever he can push it
America needs a message? I'm a Democrat, but it breaks my heart to hear these politicians ruin our country.
For a year we've had Republicans "negotiating" deals on legislation then voting against the very thing they negotiated. THEN they go back home and claim credit for the thing the voted against.
Comical and absurd. And it is the Republicans. Mr. Lehrer's guest is displaying the hollowness of the supposedly 'objective' he said/she said approach when he fails to acknowledge the obvious.
I see comment #1 exemplifies the right-wing idea of bipartisanship: The right-wingers should just get everything they want (never mind that they didn't win the last election).
They appear to have some bipartisonship on the health care effort now, but it's a facade: they're trying to pass the Senate pro-abortion bill in spite of everything.
