Mr. DioGuardi, who do you think are the biggest consumers of the goods that China produces? Hint: it's not the Chinese
I have little/no regard for Schumer -- So I listened to the 2 guys running against him, one of which will get the Rep. nomination. So I'm voting for Schumer again. I won't vote for either of these nut job whackos. Bring back Everett Dirkson (or his ilk) and I'll vote Republican..
Dear Brian, please do not allow your guests to "catapult the propaganda." The majority of the deficit growth was caused by the unpaid-for Bush tax cuts. The majority of future deficit growth will NOT be caused by Social Security, which is paid for and not broken and will not run out, but by out of control health care costs, which the CBO estimated the Health Care (Insurance) Reform Bill will eventually bring under control. These GOP candidates have made vicious, hateful slurs against Jews, blacks, and women, and you should be challenging them much harder on doing so. They are all very, very bad news, and unlike nearly all the other major GOP candidates New York has fielded and elected in the last 50 years.
As usual, a non-apology! "I'm sorry you feel offended" and "I didn't mean for feminists to be upset," not "I'm sorry that I contributed to a culture in which women are seen as public property to be commented on freely."
Slow, accelerating, sarcastic clap for Mr. Blakeman. - and another round for Mr. DioGuardi, who wants smaller government when it suits him and more government intervention where he thinks it counts: women's bodies and homosexual relationships.
Sometimes I am not sure how you do it Brian. You are a true professional to be able to keep it together when interviewing people like Bruce Blakemen. I wish I lived in NY so I could vote against this sexist Jack***. Between this guy and Lazio LI seems to bread these types.
If Democrats and progressive independents don't turn out to vote -- in large numers -- for the 2010 election and we get these backward looking Republican/conservative/tea party candidates in Congress, we will have no one to blame but ourselves. Vote people!
Easily reinforces my already existing desire never to vote Republican.
What a moron.
Same idiotic inane talking points from the same losers who destroyed the economy, obstruct the recovery and now try to blame everyone else. I can't stomach to listen anymore. There is no substance to any of these interviews and another giant disappointment from BL show.
Well matriculated nonsense so far from the republican/tea party candidates.
Why are you letting these guys repeat their Party's lies and cliches ad nauseum, without challenging anything they say?
Like, 'Obamacare', and the deficit is going to make the world end.
Anyone using the term "obamacare" does NOT get my vote.
How about eliminating the income cap for social security?!
And what does Blakeman think Bush and Obama were doing when they pumped hundreds of billions into Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, AIG, BoA??? The whole idea was to pump liquidity into the private economy. DIDN'T WORK. The weatlhy heads just put the money in their own pockets.
Now that you've had the taxpeyer party candidate on the show, I assume you will give equal time on the show to the Green Party candidates for Senate, Colia Clark (running against Gillebrand) & Ceceile Lawrence (running againsty Schumer)
If there are no sacred cows, why not halve the military budget? $330bn right there. Maybe then the US could invest in heathcare & infrastructure.
Well matriculated nonsense
An easy solution to having more non-career-politicians in Washington, would be to have term limits for the legislative branch!
Driving up health care costs?
Well, Malpass is a Republican, so money-grubbing pharmaceuticals are exempt from responsibility. And money-grubbing health insurers are likewise exempt.
Pathetic.
It's good that you gave these folks a forum here, even though most of what they say is poppycock. You can fool all of the people some of the time (etc.).
Biggest most important valid point: The health care bill is certainly junk, but IMO it's necessary junk, and should be fixed, not repealed.
David Malpass was chief economist at Bear Stearns and we all know how well they did, so what possible reason do we have to believe that Malpass is competent to address any issue of any kind facing New York or the country?!

eminent domain
If David Malpass is opposed to excessive spending, does he support cuts in the military budget of hundreds of billions -- money that could better be spent directly putting Americans to work or through school or in homes.
why does ny send so many tax $ out of the state when we are a national economic engine.

Ugh! Abortion is a private medical health matter. If he is a devout Catholic, then he also opposes contraception and thinks women should have as many kids as God will grant them, which is a mentality from the Stone Age. Get with the times, man.
If Mr. DioGuardi is in favor of nuclear power, what does he think should be done with the waste?
Please ask all candidates what they think about allowing companies and special interest groups to lobby congress (everybody’s constitutional right) but make it illegal to give out any campaign finance money to any politician in public office to finally give back the government to the American people.
"The way China is rising"???
The global warming already underway is the result of carbon emissions decades ago. Carbon takes many years to migrate up to the levels of the atmosphere where they have any effect on global warming. Blaming China for what has already happened is passing the buck or just plain xenophobia.
"Hellbent on growing without limitation if they can get away with it" -- Wow! Imagine somebody saying that about the US and the hysterical raving it would prompt among Americans. (And the US was and IS hellbent on growing. Sheesh.)
