There were heated accusations and plenty of disagreements during last night's Democratic Debate for Manhattan District Attorney between Leslie Crocker Snyder, Cyrus Vance, Jr., and Richard Aborn. NY1's Political Director
Bob Hardt breaks down the race.

The debate last night clearly showed that there is only one candidate in the field who is actually experienced with how the legal system works in NYC and that is Judge Leslie Crocker Snyder.
She has been in the belly of the beast for 35 years while the other two candidates - the rich socialite Cyrus Vance, Jr. and the dilettante Richard Aborn, have been out of town for most of their careers doing private practice or working on arcane policy projects; Vance in Seattle for 17 of the last 21 years and Aborn off and on in Washington DC for most of his professional life.
Judge Snyder will clearly make a smart, strong and skilled Manhattan District Attorney. It is also time for a woman in this important role.
PS - Vance’s NY Times endorsement is clearly a favor given his lack of credentials and long family association with the paper. Both gentlemen are amateurs when it comes to the criminal justice system.
