the culture wars are over. the conservatives just don't know it yet.
the voters have been heard in the northeast, and west coast and now in the midwest. everywhere where modern people live, we see the GOP is out of step with the 21st century. only in the federally subsidized south, mountain and plains states can the party of no, the anti-science party, the party of the 1950's win.
besides gays and abortion the GOP is wrong and out of touch on other topics including: stem cells research, torture, drug policy and women's rights, human rights and end of life issues.
the only thing conservatives with power want to conserve is their own bank accounts. the culture wars were never anything more than distraction so the working classes couldn't focus on how screwed we were.
