Mr. Brian Lehrer, Happy Thanksgiving... you are someone who I will love to celebrate Thanksgiving with or share coffee or beer with...
I want to thank you and your radio station for the positive stories on Africa during 2009.
I also attended an event at your station Greene Space during which Doing Business with Africa was debated... "Rebranding Africa," derived from Africa: Strictly Business—The Steady March to Prosperity... Among your guest were a book launcher Ms. Rosalind Kilkenny McLymont and Ms. Esther Armah etc
And the affable and personal Mr. Terrance McKnight, host of Evening Music serves as Master of Ceremony... coordinated/presided.
On this Thanksgiving day/season... I thank you Brian Lehrer for your socially responsible and socially relevant journalism.
Happy Thanksgiving Brian... you are friend of my peoples... Whose stories remain largely under reported and, reported lopsidedly or completely untold.
Accept my thunderous applause!
Most sincerely,

If you get this, please ask the guest about the effect of the mineral known as "Coltan" -- an essential ingredient in cell phones and other portable electronics (in the batteries I believe) which is mined in central Africa (Rwanda, Congo particularly). Does your guest have any thoughts about the economic effects of this mineral on funding the wars in that area?
"Rebrand Africa"? What a sorry, pathetic, western way to put things.
M MOUSE
LOL!!
thanks
I'd like to know about the gender distribution of phones--are they as accessible to women as they are to men?
Thank you Mr. Zuckerman and Mr. Lehrer for this focus on current developments in Nigeria and the rest of the African continent.
It is refreshing to have news that deals with every day lives and human development...
This is a lot better than single story... often focused on chaos or crises... as the entire continent is irredeemable...
Thanks for this breathe of fresh air!
WASH' post closes ny office.
cell phones new source of news?
CRASH
How has text messaging on mobile phones changed the political and social situations in countries overseas?
