Today is Friday the 13th, a day when some say nothing can go right. Whether you are triskaidekaphobic or not, we’ve all had unlucky days – and lucky ones. Tell us about your luckiest or unluckiest day ever below!
We have a couple across the street always naked and often times having sex, with their light on and no curtain... I don't know whether they know we can see them, but we can... and we don't want to see them... but they are there, very close and we work at home, by our window... anyway, NYers can be quite free with their privacy. Must be the nature of the big city...

My late mother-in-law considered Friday the 13th to be her lucky day. She was born on that day, and 20 years later she won an expensive car in a Friday the 13th raffle. She sold it to pay her college tuition.

On Friday, May 13, 1988, I took a bus from the Port Authority to Cape May. I began a conversation with a man getting on the same bus and he is now my wonderful husband. Friday the 13th is my lucky day!

My luckiest day was in 1967. I was in my 14th year in a struggling TV service business, when there was a surge of color TV sales was happening. I wanted to move from my side-street store location, to one on 8th Avenue in Brooklyn, in the same neighborhood. I saw a 'For-Rent' sign at a vacant store, and made a hand-shake deal with the owner, who said I should return the next day with my deposit, and sign a 3-year lease.
Upon my return, he told me that he rented it to a shoe store chain, and that "our hand-shake wasn't a contract."
I was angry and disappointed when I drove away to return home by way of the BQE, only about 10-blocks from that store, when I saw a corner store's 'For Rent' sign. On that same day, I rented that store with the money I brought for the other location.
I immediately realized that hundreds of thousands of people in cars and busses would soon know of my antenna business from seeing my signs, if I did it right.
I painted a giant image of a KING holding an TV Antenna, for his scepter, And and in BLOCK LETTERS, my new name "ANTENNA KING", and my new motto: "WHAT THE KING INSTALLS, NEVER FALLS." Business BOOMED! In only two years time I was able to buy the building, which I own to this day. My business expanded to the entire NYC metropolitan area, as well as to Long Island and New Jersey. I installed antennas for major hotel and bars in NYC, as well as for UN Embassies, TV and Radio stations. I ultimately became an exporter of antennas and satellite equipment to Europe and Africa through these embassy connections.

Years ago when I was in high school, I auditioned for the yearly talent show. The date was Friday the 13th. I made it, played piano really well, and decided that Friday the 13th would be my "Lucky Day"!

Today has been my unluckiest day. I got laid off at the beginning of the day, so I have to suck it up and still work until 5:30.

my luckiest day seems like my most unlucky day to most. December 6th 5 years ago i got into a yellow cab on a rainy night. I woke up in the hospital with no front teeth and a broken jaw. I was not wearing a seat belt in the cab and it lost control on amsterdam ave. Kind of unlucky right? It was the turning point. I moved to new orleans to get out of nyc to heal, I was in my late 20's and lost. The time it took me to heal out of NYC allowed me to really ask my self what i wanted for my life.
Today I feel so much stronger, smarter and clear. I am not sure that would have happened if i did not get into that cab that night. With the money from the settlement i bought a beautiful big house in the upper 9th ward in New orleans and trying to help that community.

My landlord just called to raise my rent - in this economic climate, and she knows I'm unemployed! Not feeling too lucky today...

My luckiest day was when I learned I passed the bar exam and won $800.00 dollars in the Lottery on the same day. It was a weird day.

I know this sounds like a Hallmark card, but I can honestly say that the luckiest day of my life was when I met my soon-to-be wife. At 43 years of age life became new and exciting, and the future has meaning. That's what I call good luck!
