On Wednesday, Barack Obama explained what he's done in the last 100 days. Now it's your turn. Did you also get a new dog? Did you finally clean out your fridge, or finish that big book? Did you get a new job, or invent something?

I forgot to mention that I finally finished reading the book: “One Palestine, Complete. Jews and Arabs under the British Mandate”! it took me a while…
I am in my late seventies. I accomplished a long held dream: to study music - jazz in particular - and returned to school and played in the jazz combo.
I opted not to attend Music and Art High School when I was twelve. So and embarking on a psychologically fulfilling journey.
In the last 100 days, I went to Brazil and finally got divorced, had a tooth implant, cooked risotto for 20 people to celebrate my mother’s 75 birthday, came back to New York and got my papers ready to take the Architectural Registration Exam, met a Polish guy who I thought would be the man of my life and accomplished to be wrong once again!
Got laid off, got down about it, have rebounded, found a new confidence in my acting abilities (took it up just over a year ago and love it), got to teach kids basic golfing skills at an after school program and had a ball doing it, hustling and networking like crazy and just not letting this economy get to me.
Congratulations to all of you, it's very inspiring to hear tales of your triumphs.
I myself made the decision to move out of the city and into an apartment with my loving girlfriend in Oakland!
The rats in my wall finally busted thru into the apartment. That was their accomplishment. I had them exterminated… that was mine!
Set up a children's nonprofit organization with my partner ALLISON Mitchell called:
world effect (we)
: ))
In the last hundred days, I finally decided to get my driver's license after having my learner's permit for 11 years!!!! I passed the road test on Monday, April 27th!!!!! HORRAY!!!!
i moved back to the city from hawaii last year and i made it through the winter!!!
Worked every day and tried to stay positive!
That should be - wish me luck. D'oh!
in the last 100 days i got out of a bad relationship, took an art class and a ballet class, quit my job and bought a ticket to Europe, leaving June 1!
after being unemployed for the last year i decided that i don't want a job and i've been working towards becoming self-employed and i'm hopeful things are going to work out wonderfully.
I quit smoking, hosted a crawfish boil, went to my first race at Talladega, and celebrated my 2nd wedding anniversary with my husband in New Orleans!
I used to have a terrible problem with procrastination. It's largely conquered, but I had a relapse and let something get away from me. I finally stepped up and confronted the issue. It's dealt with and (surprise!) it wasn't as awful to deal with as my procrastinating mind had built it up to be.
YOU GO BILL!!! Keep that monkey off your back!!!
After having to leave the traditional work force because of a chronic illness I got moving on my new career as a freelance writer, and am starting to get published. Launched a blog, and working on a Web site for people living with chronic illness. Wish my luck!
biked to work every day, minus a few, rain or snow.
Stayed sober one day at a time.
I got laid off (not an accomplishment in this environment), but landed on my feet. I will start on Monday as Counsel to the wonderful Deputy Chief Administrative Judge Fern Fisher where I will be helping her and the incredible former Chief Judge of the State of New York Judith Kaye (now at Skadden Arps) to administrate the state-wide Access to Justice Program. The current accomplishment is only in getting the job, but I'm hoping that the accomplishments of the next 12 months put this small accomplishment to shame.
I had a baby boy and figured out how to breastfeed him, only to learn from the BL Show that breastfeeding isn't "all that!"
I got a lot done!! I helped plan a service trip to Botswana for 30 ppl, wrote a press release and two articles, got myself two internship offers and one of them was my "dream" internship, got another friend an interview, and applied for two fellowships. Not bad!
finished a draft of my novel--the next hundred will be devoted to the 2nd draft...
I finished my second novel, sent it to my editor to see if she likes it. I found a freelance gig to squeak by, and stopped listening to all the fear out there.
Finally got my non-profit dream off the ground, got incorporated last month and started collecting books and raising funds to ship them to the Philippines to help Filipino kids.

I wrote in over Christmas time that all I wanted for Christmas was help paying down my credit card debt. I am proud to announce that i have sucessfully whittled down my $5000 of post-holiday debt to $0! I am now a member of those Americans who are now actively buildling savings (instead of building debt)!
Went from temping to getting full time hired!
Finally attempted YOGA and have been hooked ever since!

I have, after much pestering from friends, finally sat down and started a blog (http://radiojew.blogspot.com). The friends may consider it something of a mixed blessing by now, but it's become too much fun to stop.
I ran the Boston Marathon faster than I did thirty years ago, wearing the same T-shirt.
During the last 100 days, I have:
polished up a choral composition (Barb'ra Allen),
rehearsed for next week's Canby Singers concert,
spent 2 weeks in Turkey,
and did some WICKED gardening and landscaping at home.
Oh, and—as a consequence—discovered that all of my body's gardening musculature is apparently connected to my posterior! Hmmm...maybe buying shares relating to ibuprofen are in order?
On top of my regular paying work, I picked up 2 new clients and I designed a concept front end loader (tractor with a shovel on the front) from the ground up using linear motor technology to replace hydraulics. Plus I designed a concept RT walking crane used for building transmission lines in extreme rough terrain. It also uses linear motor technology to replace hydraulics. Oh and I bought a new car which was by far the hardest thing I did the last 100 days….
On January 20th I went to the inauguration, since then I got signed to a record label, applied for the sundance institute and switched to mac.
In the last 100 days I quit my job, spent a month in India playing music, wrote a dozen songs, and have now writing a book on Juggling Yoga that I plan to teach at yoga studios around NY.
Gutted and remodeled my Mother's bathroom (lead pipes and all). Spent a week in Belgium with my wife, enjoying life & beer.
I helped my child grow and thrive solely with milk I produced with my own body.
In the past 100 days, I have saved $10,000. Unfortunately it's in that Un-American Bank, Bank of America.....
My biggest accomplishment in the last 100 days is my 11-week-old daughter, Eva!

I started therapy. I know, it's "so New York."
In the last 100 days I have gone from being employed as a printmaker, to unemployment, to archivist at Hasbro. Getting paid to play with toys all day sure beats unemployment.
In the last 100 days I have paid off two credit cards, gotten a new job, graded over 1000 student essays, and drank my wieght in domestic beer. All hail me!
My wife and I had our first child, Daniel, who rolled over for the first time to face the tv as Obama was beginning his 100 days press conference! It was very amusing.
Good for you, Eva! Welcome baby Luna! And good luck to the rest of you who have set off on new adventures.
I'm happy to say my last 100 days has been spent in my first job since completing an MA, and I feel lucky every day.
hjs, don't take the media's word for it! Brian mentions all the time his project where everybody shares things they notice about the recession. You should go read all those stories when you're not out supporting the restaurant industry.
in the last 100 days i've been trying to help the economy by drinking, eating and drinking around manhattan & brooklyn. but to be honest I don't see any signs of this recession you people in the media keep talking about. is NYC in a recession or is it media hype like swine flu/Y2K?
I gave birth to baby girl Luna!
I learned how to be the forman of a jury, I organized a tenant's association, I moved to another state and I fell in love with the man of my dreams.
More than I did for the last two years...
I entered a satirical essay contest.
And I lost..but I lost with dignity. A real accomplishment.
I painted my dining room. I signed divorce papers. I decided to maintain a positive attitude and try my best to be happy. I started volunteering at an immigrant center in my neighborhood, which has led me to think about getting a Masters in Adult Education.
My proudest accomplishment, despite hearing about the threat about 10 times at the top of every hour, is that I have avoided getting the swine flu.
What have I accomplished since January 20?
In that time, I have made a sincere and concerted effort to reach out to some of the 50 million Americans who are to the right of me.
This involved attending a "tea party", where I made the case 1) FOR the stimulus package, and 2) AGAINST the bank bailout. It was nerve-wracking, but I was treated very well - even hugged for having the chutzpah to show up (I was the only Obama supporter.) And I was thanked profusely for providing simple explanations of bank bailout terms.
I learned that even reactionary conservatives may be receptive to our ideas if we give them the chance.
I also noted a class difference - there were people at the tea parties who felt that "elitist" liberals "dissed" or ignored them, and a little respect went a long way toward getting them to consider a less extreme position. Think about it - until Nixon's Southern Strategy, many of these people had been Democrats. It's our job to get them back. Leave no man behind, so to speak.
So I strongly urge everyone to do three things:
1) Engage the right with warmth and respect. Look for places of common ground, AND be clear and generous in your explanations of YOUR positions;
2) Give Barack Obama the support AND pressure he needs to say no to Wall Street, and to say no to torture, etc. He needs our voices for leverage;
3) Don't become complacent just because we have Obama as President and nearly 60 votes. We were complacent when Clinton was in office, and a lot of the problems we're having now trace back to the Clinton administration. (Commodities Futures Modernization Act, anyone?)
We worked hard to get Obama in office; we have to work harder to help him make this country work again.
