Great question, Dara. One of Acumen Fund's investments is Ecotact, which provides quality pay-per-use toilet and shower facilities for the urban poor in Kenya and uses the toilets as a tool to increase health and public awareness of sanitation.
All this talk about "clean water" - what about sanitation and proper waste disposal for these areas??
