I would love to watch this film. Is it possible to get a copy of the video online?

Does anyone know how much food could be produced in the metro nyc area, if we used available space such as roofs, yards, etc? Of what is needed to feed the city, how much would it provide?

I joined my local CSA, and get veggies every week from a farm in New Jersey. And after my first delivery of veggies I became aware of how much variety we have, but how none of it is local and most of it unsustainable.

At school in Vermont a group of students attempted to eat entirely bio-regionally, and it was very difficult to get the nutrients they were used to getting, it seems we have lost touch with eating locally, and now it is nearly impossible.

Does anyone have any ideas about canning and freezing that might help eat locally?

This documentary reminds me of some of Nichtern's points in the book: One City: A Declaration of Interdependence

I don't hear any complaints about hiring $8 an hour un-documented workers while millions of New Yorkers are not even noted.
