this is a great show &getting people to send in videos help us as a community - thanks Brian & WNYC
A video contest for a radio show? That' rich.
C'mon, WNYC!!!
I've just renewed my pledge, and I love WNYC, but I think there needs to be some self-reflection here... this economic situation is not a joke. Perhaps we need to sometimes laugh to keep from crying, but I know many people who've just been laid off, and this segment seems ridiculous.
And, having just heard the previous blurb about how WNYC is "community-based radio", I have to wonder - how inclusive a community?
This jokey tone leaves a bitter taste for many, I suspect.
For most New Yorkers, this is a life-disrupting event, and I think that WNYC needs to have more serious coverage and less puffery (although, I enjoy the comic relief, too).
How about some coverage on how things are going on the street in the poorer neighborhoods of NYC?
The most useful swag I've ever gotten was at the recent New York Road Runners Scotland 10-K run. It rained the entire time and the swag bag included a rain poncho!
Utterly inane show.
found the article about tanking summer rental prices in the hamptons (deliciously) interesting
