My neighbor is Chinese and she has invited all of the families on our street to a party on Sunday where we will all wrap dumplings and learn some Chinese language. I am so looking forward to it and so are my eight-year-old boys.

today is my birthday, so i'm celebrating a double-billing of happiness.

i'm wearing red, which is an auspicious color, and i ate a red apple this morning, which according to my mother, brings good luck.

happy the year of the ox, Brian!!!

Like Barack Obama, I was born in the year of the ox. We oxen are hard-working and patient.

I haven't decided what to do to celebrate. I'd love some suggestions.

It happens to be my birthday, so I'm having dinner with family, which will likely include a traditional soup with rice balls - think Asian motzo ball soup. It's supposed to ring in good health and fortune forthe coming year.

I'm Asian as well, and while I'm not an Ox - my sign is a horse - I can be ox-like in my determination.

Great show, Brian, as always.

I am an ox...I will celebrate by being as bull headed as possible and not believing what MSM tells me (or believes with a grain of salt)

We have a dumpling-wrapping party every year. Eating dumplings is supposed to bring you riches for the new year because they're shaped like old-fashioned gold ingots. Very fun, with lots of laughing at the misshapen dumplings made by novices and all the dumplings one can eat!

I am an OX! and coincidentally, a Taurus!
But as an OX! (much like President Obama) I will be celebrating by reaffirming our OX-known resolve and determination through maintaining a job and helping others get back theirs.

I'm an American living in Chongqing, China. I spent New Year's Eve at my girlfriend's mom's house up in the mountains (they're from here), cooking BBQ on the roof with a friend from Uganda, my girlfriend's 80-something year-old grandmother, her mom and some other Chinese friends. As each New Year here passes, even "second-tier" cities like this one become more international. One thing I really wish Americans could witness is the fireworks here on "the 30th" (Chinese calendar), New Year's Eve. In a dense, hilly city like this one, it's an amazing spontaneous display from every altitude and direction. Far better than any planned display!

Last thing: it's technically not a "lunar" but a "lunisolar" calendar, incorporating both solar and lunar factors.

I used to live in Harlem and love listening to your show everyday from here online!
