Adrien #7, You are so right. Obama said in his excellent speech in Philly back in March that you cannot "buy racial reconciliation on the cheap by voting for me."

Brian keeps harping on his ideological conviction (not supported by facts) that black people are responsible for the passage of Prop. 8 in CA. But he, along with the rest of the MSM, has yet to acknowledge that an overwhelming majority of white voters in the presidential election voted for John McCain.

The election of Obama isn't the realization of King's dream. It's just one important step toward it. Minorities in America continue to lag far behind whites in terms of economic prosperity, etc. Not until these "equality" gaps are closed can we say King's dream has been fulfilled. Will Obama's presidency help us on our way toward King's goal and a better nation? I hope the hell so.

I object to the Lincoln Memorial Event's exclusivity. What if you cannot afford to subscribe to HBO -- which I cannot? I can barely afford basic cable. That means that I and people in my income bracket are not included.

Is there a way to get a transcript of Bishop Robinson's remarks?

Maybe HBO excluded the Bishop because it was a religious moment and they preferred to remain, oh, secular, as it were. Maybe. It's odd that HBO made the decision as a homophobic decision. I can't buy that. But then who knows? The shadow? The sages? The Savants?

I thought HBO owned the rights to broadcast the concert yesterday. So everyone had to air the HBO feed. HBO's corporate feet should definitely be held to the fire.

Gene Robinson's speech was eliminated because mainstream media and society want gay people to be invisible. Enough said. This is why marriage is denied. This is why there are groups like Exodus meant to change gay people. This is why even NPR coverage of the Rick Warren controversy was interviews with clergy and not gay citizens. Even well-meaning liberals do not want to see us or hear us.

NPR had the exclusive broadcast rights and also did not include Gene Robinson's invocation.
