Obama's use of "my fellow citizens" was because 1) the conservative right has appropriated "my fellow Americans" 2) Listeners around the world could interpret it as citizen of the world 3)It showed a thoughtfulness about word choice from the very start of his speech On including non-believers in his address, it may be that he was thinking of his own mother who was an atheist.

I love this show, and I love that you're doing segments related to the current economic situation and the job market. (Ex. the segment on jobs in the health and insurance industries and with the government were interesting and helpful.)
This segment was a waste of air time...Did WNYC owe someone a favor who owed this guy a favor?

This guy is distracted, and there's little substance to his advice.
Disappointed - the job search goes on.

Facebook is GREAT for networking for jobs. A few weeks ago, I needed a graphic designer. Within 5 minutes of posting a status update: "I'm looking for a graphic designer asap," I had four messages, most of them from folks I didn't know who had been forwarded my message from one of my facebook friends. Most even linked to their portfolio or resume already online.

When you're out of work, spend a few hours a day looking for a job, but arrange to do some volunteer work. That way, you remain social, give back to the community, and don't drive yourself crazy by looking for jobs 8 hours a day.

Someone who doesn’t enjoy socializing at parties might be described as either “asocial” or “antisocial’; but “asocial” is too mild a term to describe someone who commits an antisocial act like planting a bomb. “Asocial” suggests indifference to or separation from society, whereas “anti-social” more often suggests active hostility toward society
