To Mike (2) - I completely agree with you until your last line - you can't possibly believe that 9/11 was the result of the actions of only 30 or 40 men, can you?
Why has your guest not mentioned the then Secretary of Transportation Minetta testimony to the 9/11 commision, which can be seen on youtube, that he was in Dick Cheney's office as an aid came in to ask if he wanted the plane allowed to continue which was heading for the pentagon? Cheney whipped around angrily and said, "Has anyone ordered you to do otherwise?"
Let's say they fighters had scrambled in time to encounter either plane headed for NYC. Where exactly would they have shot them down? Over Westchester or Rockland Counties? Over lower Manhattan or New Jersey? All incredibly populous areas. Do you think they could have forced the hijiacked plane over the Atlantic and shot it down there? The last one that went down over PA was just lucky that it was over an undeveloped area.
i am an evacuee of katrina. this notion of govn. is as accurate as the depiction and perception. my experience with fema proves the deception from a national security stance. the question is grassroots, and how does a citizen function in this post post modernity.

I remember Bush being completely AWOL on 9/11, while his secret plane was being tracked live on CNN and he flew from base to base without a clue. Gulianni stepped up to the plate, but Bush was gone. Bush appears to have been guided in his mission by genuine fear, not exactly what we expect from our leaders.
The worst part about all the lies that America changed because of them. We became a police state, and a Keystone Cop state, which is even worse. We went to war killing hundreds of thousands because of the actions of maybe 30 or 40 men. He turned 9/11 into a war on the biggest religion in the world.
Please ask him if has any ideas about why Sandy Berger would risk his career and reputation to clumsily steal documents from the National Archive and then destroy them. Is there a connection to 9/11?

Did anyone think to ask why Dick Cheney was in running NORAD on 9/11?

A bit of a conflict where he calls the WTC site a battlefield then says that the act is more than a crime but not an act of war.
It was an act of war from a group with a common ideology, terrorists. Then we went after the completely wrong people.

Is this unavoidable? Can the government be improved, or are you suggesting less government? I can't imagine less government would help in a crisis.
Initially reports by the bbc suggested that plane that crashed in Penn had been shot down. Is it possible that is true? Why did the bbc report that?
