What an idiotic programming decision, not to mention bizarre segue. The president makes a momentous announcement to escalate a war and you can't even devote the entire first hour to it, let alone the whole show, as if somehow your listeners need some kind of puff piece to relieve the stress of 45 minutes of serious discussion. How about some more listener calls to fill out the hour, if nothing else? You undermine the value of your show with moves like this.

Re. the 'self-sanitazing door handle' - there's a much more environmentally-friendly alternative to the anti-microbial plastic cover on the door handle discussed: Door handles made out of copper which has proven natural anti-microbial properties. It's mindboggling why this isn't been applied already. http://www.copper.org/about/pressreleases/2009/pr2009_October_15.html

Self-sanitizing door handle? Awww come on! Talk about taking advantage of people's irrational fears. Waste of energy!

What is the point of heavy packing material! I get that it is made from mushrooms, hence very "green" but who would want to ship something with extra heavy packing material.
I saw the same product mentioned on television, but they touted its properties as an insulater. And it is fireproof!

Between the last segment and this somewhat pointless deal, I feel like my head is going to explode.

Am I the only one who does not get the wallpaper?!??!

The wall paper will not hold a load once the wall behind it crumbles! If it's a load bearing wall (like most exterior walls) won't the roof structure or whatever load it was bearing come crashing down?

Yes it prevents projectiles from penetrating the wall but what is the use if the roof collapses on me?

Sound #2 sounds like a whip-it water carbonator.

Medical Technology... giving us more to worry about without actually fixing anything.

Sound #1: an automatic candy-unwrapper!

The first one is cellophane paper. Oh that's been invented.
