New Jersey's race for governor is heating up, and a recent poll shows that the gap between Republican challenger Chris Christie and Democratic incumbent Jon Corzine has narrowed in recent weeks. Josh Margolin, a political reporter with the Star-Ledger, and John Weingart, associate director of the Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers University, talk about the race--and what voters want to see happen.

How is this for a follow up? "Third parties who are running for governor in new jersey.."
Such empty rhetoric from CC. He will cut taxes! How? Not by cutting popular programs, but by cutting "wasteful spending!" TOTAL nonsense.
Whatever one thinks of Corzine he has made some cuts to popular programs. Something that is now hurting him with his base.
It's all about taxes and the economy! NJ taxpayers just had a personal income tax increase(retroactively) while the unemployment rate exceeds 10% and it has the highest property taxes in the nation, high tolls, congestion, etc.
I'm a Dem but I fear that we cannot afford more Corzine. I respect his idealism but I thought it would be paired with financial savvy. NJ's situation, however, does not reflect financial prudence.
Can't vote for Christie though, he's a slippery character and a Bush buddy.
What's blue girl to do?
Josh should know that Christie is doing what almost every state-wide Republican has done over the past 20 years. Run strong while no one is paying attention and then nose-dive once Labor Day rolls around, the recent corruption scandal not withstanding.
