David Cynamon, lead attorney for all of the Kuwaiti detainees held in Guantanamo and a partner at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, previews Tuesday's hearings--and talks about the release of one of his clients.
hjs: you are just wrong. Planes purposely flown into the WTC and Pentagon hijacked by foreign terrorists is by definition "an invasion". If al Qaeda had the ability to launch missiles remotely at the WTC and Pentagon, they would have. They don't, so they used human terrorists to hijack 747s and use them as guided missiles. That's a foreign invasion. Can't make it any clearer for you than that.
Article 1, Section 9 of the U.S. Constitution: “The privilege of the writ of habeas corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in cases of rebellion or invasion the public safety may require it.” See: http://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/constitution.articlei.html#section9
9/11 qualifies as invasion. Bin Laden admitted responsibility for 9/11 attacks. No habeas corpus for terrorists loyal to bin Laden who are intent on further invasions. Case closed.
Guilty of having a mistaken number. Wow -- how low can American justice go.
What does David Cynamon believe about the Bush-style policy of Obama?
"Preventive Detention", detention for life, denial of habeas corpus, still allowing torture at Bagram and elsewhere, no prosecution of Bush war criminals, not even an investigation!

9/11 was just a large scale criminal attack. It's the same thing as the Oklahoma City bombings. Mcveigh got his trial. He wasn't water boarded.
Bend the rules, and they will end up breaking.
