Hey you guys, Check out Newark. Not only are they using kick backs, they also buy votes from each other. I got this news from a district leader himself. As far as the kickbacks. Well, if you want to laugh just read the big green signs, Your Dollars at work. Last year there was a sign on Broad Street near City Hall, that quoted something like 4 million dollars and the only thing they did was put up a clock, a few trees and painted some new white lines. Down on Bloomfield Avenue near the subway there is a bridge that was full of pot holes it's only about 2 NYC blocks long. They had the gall to put a sign up there too, 1.5 million dollars. For what? On Broad street they had three guys working, the got rainy days off and last summer it must have rained for a month. Cory Booker doesn't have Newark in his interest, just power. He hates the poor and is derides and belittles them and that has been his way since is Newark Do Something Days.
However an articulte Black man can dazzle and make you drop your fork if he wants to.
I don't want him for president. Not ever. Rabbis and all, check Newark, next.

Q. for Hennelly,
Is this the interview with Morgenthau that you detailed in a recent interview with Brian? (transcript below)
If so, why not build this out into a longer, written piece that includes the "Morgenthau asked EVERY US Treasury Secty for 35 years and they refused him" bit?
I mean, with all due respect for the significance of which beer Skip and Sgt. Crowley wanted to order, THAT statement by Morgenthau is news.
This story is a great example of what you and WNYC do, but at this point it needs to be expanded and to be put into a text format that can be distributed faster and more conveniently than MP3.

"NEW YORK, NY April 05, 2009 —This week, the world's leading economic powers grappled with how to achieve greater accountability for international banks that rely on secret, off-shore tax havens. As Manhattan District Attorney Robert Morgenthau tells WNYC's Bob Hennelly, the US could solve the problem for itself overnight.
REPORTER: As the local prosecutor whose jurisdiction includes Wall Street, Morgenthau has developed an expertise in navigating criminal prosecutions through the murky waters of off-shore banking. He says even though big finance scandals like BCCI and Enron had major off-shore roots, he's failed to convince four Treasury Secretaries to do the one thing that would force cooperation with US authorities.
MORGENTHAU: All the Federal Reserve and the Treasury Department needs to do is to say we will not let any off-shore bank clear through a US bank unless that off-shore bank agrees to abide by the laws of the United States.
REPORTER: Morgenthau says it's difficult to close the off-shore banking loophole because exploiters of the system are often generous campaign contributors.
For WNYC I'm Bob Hennelly."

Okay, thanks, I was able to open the page. Do you have/need transcripts of these?
I'm looking for more on his interview with DA Morgenthau, which he referenced all too briefly (although shockingly) in his interview with Brian a week and a half ago.
What Morgenthau said to him was a critical piece of information in the case against regulatory capture, and I can't believe he hasn't received more attention for this story.
We need a "batlight" for Bob Hennelly and Morgenthau to signal that they need to come out and fight the "Jokers" who have flat-out bought our government agencies.

Rabbid Rabbi,
Thank you. But this is not about rabbis.
This is about campaign finance reform and corrupt offshore tax havens.
And it's very clear that the corrupt public officials in this case are not Jewish.
It's also clear to me that many of the people investigating the larger issue of corruption/injustice in this country have traditionally been Jewish. (And I just watched the documentary that Bill Kunstler's daughters made about him, and wonder if the mid-20th century push for social justice was in the tradition of "open inquiry/talmudic questioning.")
Keep the faith.

Actually Bruce...Im really interested in hearing about the Rabbi Organ Trafficking... hear no evil & see no evil do not mean that evil does not exist.
But we do have to speak of evil to understand the signs of religious corruptions so the that honest and spiritual jewish communities can learn to be awared rather than be blind to a mere religious figure. Blindness and deafness happen in all religious circles. We can all learn to see, hear, and speak.

I'm sorry, just tuned in, where can I read more stuff by Bob Hennelly?
I have been distributing the interview you did with him wherein he discusses his interview with Morgenthau - about how every US Treasury Secty for 35 years refused his request to shut down the offshore tax havens.
I thought it was one of the most important stories I have heard, but I would like to be able to distribute a written version of the story, instead of referring people to an mp3 link.
Thanks.

New Jersey never disappoints when it comes to corruption.
Ridgefield has been this way for MANY years.
I lived in Jersey for several years in Hudson County, the best of the worst when it comes to corruption. How bad? Google the name Diane Cherchio West. THAT bad.
