Ok HJS, I apologize. I over reacted. But you tend to hold certain people to a different standard. I do agree on your views on Turkey. I just don't want us to blame a certain group of people for the historical crimes that have been committed or for the crimes of specific governments.

hjs is a racist.. Should German Americans answer for Hitler and the SS? - SHould American Jews answer for the human rights violations in Israel? Should Irish-American catholics answer for the IRA? Should American catholics answer for the Inquisition and the forced marriage and rape of young African girls condemned to dying of AIDS because the Catholic church promotes the male domination of women without protection?

Turkish incorporation into the EU is a long way off; it was essentially taken off the table by a combination of the election of right-wing anti-immigrant leaders in places like France and Italy, and left-wing pro-human-rights coalitions in Germany and other places (two elections ago; the current German government is center-right). Maybe it will come up again in a decade, but I don't think it's a big issue at the moment.

How come Germany imports electricity from France that generates 75% of its energy from nuclear.
It seems to me that its funny that Germany uses green technologies and has to import energy from a country that has nuclear power.
Its the same thing with Denmark. They did cap and trade and wound up importing energy from Sweden who uses nucelar power too.

If we could tax oil by $30 a barrel and give the money back to the people directly (i.e. cut a check every month), that would put money into consumers' hands.
And thank you to the ECB/Bundesbank for not printing money like the Fed, BoE, and Zimbabwe did.
