Nate Silver, founder of political website FiveThirtyEight.com, talks about what states are in play in the presidential election and how the swing state map has changed.
Hillary did NOT beat Obama in the Popular votes - The Caucus are legal, TRADITIONAL voting events held by many states and they are NOthing new.
If one counts ALL of the people who voted in the caucuses plus those who voted in the Primary states, Obama got MORE votes than Hillary - Hillary Math meant just add the voters who participated in the primaries and ONLY count the summary vote precint res for each caucus site, but NOT the full count of people who PARTICIPATED and VOTES in the caucuses.

Correction to my post #3 I stated Stephen Tilden, the correct president is Samuel J. Tilden, I regret the error.

Of course I was speaking only of general elections & not primaries but still NO! Inquiring Minds, Hillary beat Obama only if you count votes in states that they had agreed not to compete in because they were being punished by the DNC for cutting in line, some of which Obama's name was not even on the ballot. What is true is that Hillary would have won under a winner take all rule like the Republicans have or the Democrats use to have. Were that the case, most of us would never have even heard the word superdelegate.
Think of it this way: I am a soccer fan, but I hate when a game goes to penaly kicks. However, I cannot then say that because my team having outplayed their opponents and yet failed to outscore them and losing on penalty kicks, deserved to win. They knew the rules going into the game, or if they did not, should not have taken to the field.

You forgot one! Hillary Clinton beat Obama in popular VOTES. It was only delegate shenanigans that got him the nomination.

It is amazing to me that Obama might lose. But it could happen and if you believe that the voting machines were rigged by Diabold then yo have to suspect the fix is in. Bizzare

my fear is that Obama wins the popular vote and loses in the college. I believe that this has happened four times in US history, Andrew Jackson, Stephen Tilden, Grover Cleveland & Al Gore. Pop quiz: What do they all have in common? Hopefully history does not repeat itself.

I heard the exact opposite result pronounced on a CNN/Time poll last night, with Obama decidedly ahead of McCain. Enough polling.
