Thank you J.

I am studying Judaism and want to learn all I can. I like to explore other religions and want to know what is important to each culture.

Yom Kippur (a kipper is a fish) is the holiest day of the Jewish year. However, there really isn't anything to "see".

I am seriously asking. I read about Rosh Hoshannah and Yom Kippur and the book said they are considered some of the Highest Holy Days of Judaism, but I want to know which is the Holiest? is it Pesach/Passover or the above two?

It's like in Christianity, Christmas is Holy but Easter has more religious significance. I want to know the religious significance.

It is so hard to talk to people about Judaism to get a straight answer or an answer at all and I want to know.

#13 Relax and Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

I say let's all go to Connecticut for Christmas and I would like to see Israel at Passover or Rosh Hoshannah, whichever is the higher Holy Day.

Which is the higher Holy Day? Passover or Rosh Hoshannah and Yom Kipper?

you called it right - im from saint louis and you're going to hear it! saint louis is a beautiful city with saarinen's gateway arch; homestead's [or someone else's] forest park; louis sullivan's first 'skyscraper'; one of the top university's in the nation - washington university; and it is home of chuck berry. but as a brooklyn resident for the last 6 years, i only go to saint louis once a year to visit my family...

#12,
Because I'd like to preserve some of what's left of the earth for the next guy.
And it's okay to ask people questions about their consumption.
It's more than okay. They're adults. They can handle it.
Let's make the connection between frivolous trips to Vegas and the ocean's acidification. Let's make the connection between record-high, crippling rates of childhood asthma and unnecessary travel.
Children matter. The future matters. Vegas... don't matter so much.

Forget Travel --
Any Amex users baskets of money?
Usually my secretary throws everything from Amex this time of year in the garbage but since we started counting we have piled up over $2100 in free gifts from different advertisers. All with no purchase requirement. One was a $1000 gift card from a jeweler! $1000! No requirement to purchase more.

#1,
superf88, right now cruises are just as polluting and environmentally disastrous for ocean waters as they have always been!
They're also a great place to pick up a MRSA infection, or Norwalk virus.
So in this sense, there ain't nothing free about it.

And the caller who wants to go to Vegas? Why not just go snow camping in the Adirondacks? Less carbon emissions and a lot more fun than getting hit on by some fat drunk in Vegas.

C'mon, think about it guys...

Please reconsider this "cheap travel" - the environmental cost of everyone flying around because oil is cheap is more than we can afford.

I would love to fly to southern Europe to visit some classical era sites. But I'm making do with studying Attic Greek. Who's to say that this isn't a richer experience?

As the artist George Grosz joked, "like the old Chinese thinker, who travels millions of miles, all in his head."

There are lots of great deals out there. BUT if you already had a reservation for a trip and then the prices are reduced, you don't qualify for the lower fares. Happened to me with Grand Circle Travel trip to Italy -- I'd have been paying $800 more than others. Even if I changed to another trip they considered it an "old" reservation and not eligible for the price reduction. I moved my deposit into the future (12/09) and got a great deal to Venice with another company.
