House Ways and Means Committtee Chairman Charles Rangel is soliciting donations for his academic center from corporations with business interests before his panel. The Washington Posts's Christopher Lee broke the story.
and further --- was there even a segment on any NYer covers that offended Bush or Cheney -- of course not
a. the NYer hates Bush and Supports Obama
b. No one complained about anti-Bush NYer covers
so, #4 when you whine that Brian has 2 back to back anti-Black segments, it's rather hollow...
let's not censor free speech especially when it's good and valuable....

#4 --- sometimes blacks need to be criticized too lol
as if most of the criticism here isn't against white males...
lol
imagaine if Rangel was white, how much sooner this story would have blown open -- he probably would have reisgned by now
but Rangel will hold on to power like some American Mugabe....

whenever you hear a "progressive" demagogue politician ranting about the poor, and talking about "the community" and it's concerns etc...
start scrutinizing....

Even though I'm a democrat, I cringe every time I see Rangel on television. He doesn't see anything wrong with holding 3 stabilized apartments as his primary residence. He doesn't see anything wrong with funding his academic center with donations from business interests before his committee. THAT'S the problem. He doesn't SEE anything wrong with these things. Mark my word, this guy will be democrat's Tom DeLay.

Charlie Rangle -- another democratic machine - smoke & mirrors - backroom - greedy - ego-driven phony who we have to be careful about criticizing because....
God save us from all these "progressives"
Reminds me of the book about Jesse Jackson called "shakedown"
While the housing crisis in NY grows uglier and uglier, demagogue Rangel uses 3-4 rent-stabilized apartments
all the while bloviating about what he does for the "people"

Rangel has always reminded me of a slick snake oil salesman. I'm not very surprised about all this if it's true. I remember the days when nothing was named after a person until they were dead for a certain period of time. I think that changed when JFK was killed and there was a rush to name placed after him.

wrangle needs to be scrutinized further... why was he receiving a 'gift' (4 subsidized rental units) from one of the largest real-estate groups in the city? that in and of itself is illegal.
