WNYC Political Director Andrea Bernstein and Massie Ritsch of the Center for Responsive Government dig deeper into the latest campaign finance filings for Hillary Clinton and Rudy Giuliani, as we continue our latest crowdsourcing project, Hillary Rudy Money.

The value of crowd sourcing would be to shine light on hidden information.

Campaign finance filings is a (the?) rare example of government information that, thanks to legislation, is currently brilliantly illuminated.

In this case the good fight was won.

Now all that remains in this one area is -- as Brian and Andrea noted in so many words during this segment -- is the application by PROFESSIONAL JOURNALISTS and other analysts to wrangle, no, just read, what is already right in front of them.

Synthesize, analyze, inform.

I can't imagine how good hearted citizens, however curious and smart, can replace that one noble occupation not of reporting but of the journalism itself.
