Call-In for Iraq War vets

Monday, November 12, 2007

A call in for Iraq War vets on the experience of coming home. What's the adjustment like after fighting in this particular war?

Today's segments on the prosecution of the Iraq war drive home one point: The downsizing and outsourcing of the U.S. military by Donald Rumsfeld has been an out and out failure. It's important to realize that the lack of soldiers and materiel, and the profusion of poorly trained mercenaries are all symptomatic of this Republican fascination with slashing government and empowering private companies to get rich off the defense of the people. Naomi Klein's Shock Doctrine is an excellent primer on the fallout from these policies.
