If teachers are such professionals who are the education experts--unlike parents--how come Bloom and Klein spent the first three years telling teachers exactly how to script their lessons and how to arrange their classrooms? And how come they don't listen to these same professionals when they tell them that there is TOO MUCH TESTING going on??

Anyone who says "thank God I don't live in New York City" makes those of us who live here say "thank God you don't live in New York City."

Viva Bloomberg. Viva the Big Apple.

Instead of continuing to focus on Bloomberg's possible presidency, why doesn't someone ask him about getting rid of term limits so that he could continue as mayor.

THANK GOD I DO NOT LIVE IN NY! Listening to his pompous godlike attitude about everything, education in particular when he clearly does not have a clue about true rich diversity of teaching and subject matter, turns my stomach.

As the NYC schools become more successful, they become more overcrowded--which in turn makes them less successful. My child's school (PS234) has been a victim of its own success. In part because Bloomberg's administration has allowed unchecked residential development within the school zone. Does he have any plans to tie the building of condos to the buliding of school buildings, such as is done in Staten Island?
