At the end of this segment a listner emailed a comment in regarding an article that apparently described how many young people today perceive technology as organic. Can anyone tell me where I can find this article?
Thanks.

thanks chris -- I had been thinking that if I were an "underpaid driver" as the guest put it then I would be protesting that I was an underpaid driver, not being forced to use a GPS.

It made me -- along with 99 percent of everybody else, no doubt -- what the heck taxi drivers are doing that makes them protest over the GPS rather than their own pay. Your answer seems to explain it.

the taxi drivers are objecting because they have to pay for the GPS systems!

I have browsed the internet from my phone to look up movie and restaurant information quite often.

At my friends' house, though, the times that have come to mind pertain more to humor -- going to YouTube to watch the "Apache" video, for example, or to find the (infamous?) "Do the right thing. Be a mensch." dating clip. Or various Saturday Night Live clips . . .

This segment is a bit overblown, I feel. Good bars always used to include a dictionary, a desk encylopedia and possibly a sports almanac to solve trivia disputes and arguments. In fact, the 11th street bar in Manhattan still has them.

Anyway, that's all the laptops and Blackberries are for. They're hardly "dehumanizing".

You don't need a laptop when you have smart phones with 3G service or an iPhone which has a pretty good browser. Get with it!

While congestion pricing has not yet been implemented, its vision is improved transportion. Doesn't a fare increase run counter to this concept? Haven't past increases generally led to reduced ridership and increased auto use? There are examples where public transportation fares were reduced with consequent increases in ridership and greatly expanded revenues. Doesn't it make sense to have a regional plan that can accommodate various alternatives?
