My ancestors immigrated during the "Napolitano Diaspora" (ca. 1900).

Socially, I'm progressive
Fiscally: conservative/RESPONSIBLE

I work as a counselor in a state psychiatric facility. My major source of concern is the healthcare ssystem.

Inpatient programs such as Rehabilitation (its more than just recovery from drug abuse) and Recreation have shrunk to barely functioning levels. Medications are not magic wands.

I'm a Democrat because I believe in equality, freedom, and taking care of your fellow man, woman, and child.

Oh... and because I'm not from the 4th century and my knuckles don't drag on the ground when I walk upright.

I'm a Democrat because I remember the Sixties and all we struggled to achieve, the idealism and hope we felt, little of which I feel nowadays. I feel pretty jaded politically--most politicians lie. I miss the activism and hope of the old days--I've lost the feeling that anything I do matters.

were we to follow the original US constitution as is was originally written African-Americans would still be slaves, women would not be able to vote plus a few other choice rights would be missing.
the writers purposely left the constitution to be a living organic document.

I am a democrat because of quintessential moral reasons. Can a distinction between the parties be made that is as simple as those that care about the rights of ALL people, vs. those that care about maintaining power and money for rich white men?
