While FDR was the last native New Yorker, Nixon definitely lived in New York before running for president. He became a partner of the now defunct Mudge, Rose law firm along with his future Attorney General John Mitchell and lived on Park Avenue.
"Michigander"--or as Brian put it, Mishuganer--sounds kinda gender-specific to me. Shouldn't a woman from Michigan be called a Michigoose--or as Brian might put it, Mishigoss?
Sorry for being out of context, but i would just like to mention in case it is discussed: for all the talk of the great democratic hope being extinguished with Bhutto, does not 'appointing' her son as successor seem a bit undemocratic? nepotism, corruption, these are not great values.
