My list is: save a lot of money, enjoy your life by reading, travelling and having company over. finish school, and an absolute must is to study temperaments. Once children becomes teenagers, they have such sudden mood swings, sometimes I makes me so frustrated I really don't know how to handle them. And yes, move into a small rural area where they are not influenced by everything and everyone.

I'm surprised that no one mentioned completing your education before having children. I did so because I knew that I could never focus on academics while taking care of children. I didn't want to be distracted from my child/children nor create this stress in my life.

Travel to exotic places, the type you can't do until your child is in their teens. Europe is possible, it won't be as much fun with a kid, but it's possible. Places like Machu Pichu, Antarctica and Africa are out of the question until the kids are older.
