The album whose liner notes most affected me is Dave Brubeck's Take Five. Without the liner notes I never would have known that each song had a non-standard time signature. Now I sing along to Take Five by counting off 1-2-3-4-5 in time to the drum beat!

The art of writing liner notes is alive and well at Norton Records (www.nortonrecords.com), based in Brooklyn. Co-owners Billy Miller and Miriam Linna's liner notes are both highly informative and extremely entertaining.
