I'm curious how the authors feel about the way the Latina actresses portray themselves in the media. a recent example would be Jennifer Lopez' role in El Cantante. This is a film which J-Lo herself produced, and however you may feel about the overall movie, she stills chooses to portray herself as an extremely sexual creature. Is this a true portrayal of Latina sexuality? Or this a perpetuation of a stereotype? Or perhaps a mix of both?
