After Hurricane Katrina, WNYC’s own Beth Fertig spent four weeks in Louisiana reporting for NPR member station KRVS in Lafayette. She expected simply to report on Katrina’s aftermath, but ended up covering the second major storm to hit the state, Hurricane Rita.
