In the 1960s and 70s, New York magazine made waves publishing provocative writing by Tom Wolfe, Norman Mailer, and Gloria Steinem. In recent years, though, the magazine has been more concerned with celebrity and sorbet. Now a new editor in chief is promising to bring back the spirit of the old New York.
