The East River State Park, on Kent between North 8th and North 9th Streets, host about a dozen 'benefit' shows organized by the Open Space Alliance for North Brooklyn (OSANB). 'Benefit' does mean they cost money, but the new venue is spacious, holds 6,000 fans, has a Manhattan backdrop and pulls in a high caliber cast of artists.

In its second year away from the McCarren Park pool, JELLY NYC presents free Sunday concerts from the East River State Park. With Chuck Schumer's help, the 10,000 capacity venue is once again the spot to get your free indie rock fix. Click here for full schedule.
The summer-long Jazzmobile series holds 45 free concerts throughout all five boroughs. On July 10 the series teams up with The Central Park Conservancy for a jazz explosion up on 106th Street featuring Jimmy Heath, Ray Mantilla and Dion Parson's 21st Century Band.

Friday nights at the Whitney Live series provide free concerts in the lower gallery and sculpture court with admission. No fear, it's pay-what-you-wish on Fridays from 6-9pm. But note, there are no special tickets or reservations. So if your summer Fridays haven't started, or don't exist, jump uptown right after work to guarantee a spot downstairs.
