Brooklyn Rookies: Behind the Scenes Audio Slideshow
What The Rookies Have To Say: "Radio Rookies is a lot of fun as well as hard work, but I know it’ll all be worth it in the end. I’ve learned how to adjust to different interviewees. The time I had the most fun was meeting new and interesting people at Union Square during a solo vox pop." -- Josetta Adams "At first I thought Rookies was boring but now it’s getting more fun. I like editing. I’ve learned many different ways you can interview someone. I had the most fun when we sent to see Maria Hinajosa because she’s a real inspiration." -- Jacuyra "We work on our stories, have fun and sometimes go to parties. I have learned how to use the material that we use to make our story." -- Keith Harris "I love Radio Rookies. It lets you express yourself because we are all like one HUGE family. I learned how to log and cut audio. This is fun. I also learned how to have the recorder as my brother/friend and to trust it. The most fun I’ve had with Rookies was when we went to go talk to my uncle and had fun and were ourselves." -- Raymond Henderson "I think of Radio Rookies sort of like a stress reliever. The thing I learned so far is how hard it is to bring a story together. The time I had the most fun was the moment I went out to vox pop—in Latin, ‘voice of the people.’ -- Kaddeem Wright |
