My name is Brittany. I am thirteen years old. I attend St. Patrick's school. I love kids and family. I also love Bow-Wow. One interesting fact about me is that I love to sing. I love to sing R&B. Because of my little brother, my life is sometimes boring.

Interesting Fact: I fell out of my chair on my birthday, on my butt, on the floor. I always fall on my birthday!

Story Description: Being called "burger" has made fourteen year old Brittany mad and sad. Even though she knows how bad teasing makes her feel, Brittany admits she does it too. Everyone seems to tease. In her story, Brittany's classmates talk about teasing in their school, and adults give her advice - she even gets some counsel from talk show host Ricki Lake!

Mentor: Ron Feemster is a freelance journalist who began his career writing magazine articles about Iranian and Palestinian refugees in Germany in 1985. He wrote exclusively in German until he returned to the United States in 1991 to attend the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. Since renewing his vows with the American language, his work has appeared in the Village Voice, The New York Times, the New York Post, Newsday and a host of newspapers, magazines and online publications. He enjoys golf, good country music and ethnic food.
