Eric Wilson
listen

Hi, my name is Eric. I love sports and want to be a pro basketball player. I write music and can do music with my mouth. I have a girlfriend. I listen to rap and R&B (all kinds - my favorite rapper is Jay-Z)
February 2001

Interesting fact: I'm cuddly and loving, I can catch a quick attitude and I love music.

Story Description: Eric is one of thousands of children growing up without his birth parents. His father was murdered when he was 3 years old. His mother was addicted to drugs. Eric has lived with his grandmother all his life. She takes good care of him, but he still feels something is missing. He recently wrote a song for all the teenagers in his position. It's called, "I'm still looking for you."

Mentor: Eric's mentor is Anna Kuchment. Anna is a writer for Newsweek International, the overseas edition of Newsweek. She has worked as a news producer at WKCR FM, Columbia's student-run radio station, when she was at Columbia College and she had an internship at the Voice of America, where she reported, produced and edited her own stories daily.
