I remember the days, back when I was still small, I would wake up to the sound of a rooster crowing at the crack of dawn. I'd get up and run outside to see the sun stretching out beneath an orange haze. My life has changed and it is not the same since I have moved to New York City, Queens. I now wake up to the sound of car alarms and construction workers... not exactly at the crack of dawn.
After many years of mishaps learning English, I now attend William Cullen
Bryant High School. I am 15 years old and I like anything that uses my
hands and imagination.
I have a little brother and a little sister. I live with them and my parents. Someday in the future I hope to have a job that includes helping and teaching kids of many ages.

Interesting Fact: I collect random stuff. I have this box in my closet that has various items such as half a Pepsi bottle cap, an old Beatles record, a few sparkly marbles, and a childhood yo-yo.
Story Description: The Internet Bug
Like a lot of teenagers, Yesica has spent hours and hours online, mostly chatting to her friends, some of whom lived only blocks away. Sometimes she found she couldn't stop herself from logging on, even when, hours later, she'd log off feeling like she'd been in a trance. Yesica knew she wasn't actually addicted to the internet, but she decided to take a closer look at what was driving this exhausting need.
Yesica's Mentor:
Ave Carrillo originally came from the Bay Area where she graduated from UC Berkeley in Fine Arts. Realizing that her true path lay in sound, she moved to New York to study jazz piano performance at the New School University. She quickly learned that the life of a musician is not all it's cracked up to be. She landed a job at Murray Street Productions under the tutelage of independent radio producer Steve Rathe. There, she became Associate Producer for NPR's Jazz From Lincoln Center, hosted by CBS news correspondent Ed Bradley. She also produced NPR JazzRiffs "This Week in Jazz" hosted by the infamous jazz critic Stanley Crouch, and segments for Jazz Profiles, hosted by Nancy Wilson. She contributed segments to PRI's Studio 360 and it seemed like such a perfect match that Ave has now gleefully made her nest with the wonderful folks there.
