My name is Jesus. I am 15 years old and a youth organizer at Make The Road By Walking, a non-profit organization. I am in 10th grade at Bushwick High School. I live in Bushwick Brooklyn, NY where my radio recordings take place.
October, 2000

Interesting fact: I have a dead cat named Ooki.

My favorite web-site is: http:// www.yahoo.com

Story Description: My story is about how easy it is for kids in Bushwick to get guns. I interview gun dealers, my principal and crime fighters. While reporting this story, a teenager was shot in my neighborhood. I saw him right after he got shot. Later, he died in the hospital. I share my feelings about this in my story too.

Mentor: Kaari Pitkin, is the associate producer of Morning Edition for WNYC. Before starting at WNYC, she coordinated volunteer programs at Washington Irving High School, a public school in Union Square.
