Hi, my name is David and I'm 16 years old. I lived in Bushwick for 16 years, going on 17. My most favorite talent is singing. I took Martial Arts classes for 5-6 years and the last belt I got was purple. I go to Automotive High School. They teach me about automotive trades and I'm majoring in Business and Technology.
October, 2000

Interesting fact: I'm a good singer.

My favorite web-site is: www.teenchat.com

Story Description: I did my story on my school, Automotive High School. It's a vocational school that teaches you the basics and specialties in automotive trades. You get different classes every time you move up a grade. And if you don't want to take up automechanics, you can take business classes. In my story, I talk to my mom, my principal, my teacher and others, and I look back on how my love of cars started by working with my dad on his car when I was little.

Mentor: Edith Updike is a print journalist, with radio experience. Edith covers diversity issues - as they relate to employment, and has also written about entrepreneurs and the auto industry.
